BOOK REVIEW: Nights in Rodanthe by Nicholas Sparks

Old people falling in love. Awe. I guess they need romance too.

Adrienne decides to finally tell her daughter (who is recently widowed) the story of her brief love affair 14(?) years prior.   It all began in Rodanthe when Adrienne, needing to get away after finding out her husband was having an affair with a much younger lady, agrees to help watch her friends little Bed & Breakfast.  With a storm a brewing there are no visitors, except Paul- a surgeon who has come to the little town to talk face to face with the child of a patient who died on the table.

Well, what brings two people together than a hurricane and similar tales of divorce. Nothing, that's it.I enjoyed the slow build-up of the romance. In the writing style. In actuality they fell in love over a weekend. Possible? yes. Plausible? No.

The book goes from Adrienne's point of view and Paul, which I like. I like the duality of the story and knowing how the other person feels.

It wasn’t my favourite Nicholas Sparks book, but it wasn’t bad, but not great. Hence the 3 star rating.  I think I will go watch the movie though. The movie adaptations to his books are usually pretty decent.
